She comes at the same time as me and we sit in silence yet connected by our thoughts and fears. We know we will be experiencing same emotions yet neither have the energy to speak and I cannot tolerate anyone else’s pain and sorrow on top of mine already. We are low but we are knowing of each other. I think she has a mastectomy. I think she could be one of so many out there – anonymous suffering yet she is beautiful – so beautiful with no hair but she is easy with it. I find solace in our unspoken kinship.
