Drawing the nude.
Life drawing is a staple of my practice—the place that demands the most knowledge and keenest observation. Yet, within its tight discipline and structure, I find the most freedom and fun. The work feels like a dialogue with the model; she is not an object, but an energy in the room, and my time is limited.
I search for the critical lines, the movement, the twist, the proportions—the pen, often ink or graphite, traverses the body across my two-dimensional surface, capturing the essence of the pose in that fleeting moment.
